The FX Artist reports directly to the FX Supervisor. May also be assigned to a FX Lead Artist. Responsible to create effects Shots within a given sequence, following the look and quality - as its been defined by the FX Supervisor, Assets Supervisor (or VFX Sup if applicable) and the Film’s Director.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Addresses all creative notes from the Assets Supervisor (or VFX Sup if applicable) and the Film’s Director – in a timely fashion.
Troubleshoots technical issues as they arise (for their shots). Makes the additional optimizations to his/her fx shots to minimize render times of layers/elements. Responsible to deliver complete rendered fx layers/elements to the Lighting/Comp Department.
Minimum of 2 years experience working within a CG Animation Feature production pipeline.
Proficient working in Maya, Houdini, C++ and Python.
Excellent attention to technical details, strong problem solving skills and ability to deliver accurate work – on schedule.
Bachelors in Computer Graphics or equivalent job experience.
Background in Animation a plus.
